Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has denied reports claiming he gifted a Toyota SUV to Lt. Ahmed Yerima, the naval officer who clashed with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

In a statement on X, Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, described the viral claim as false and baseless, urging the public to ignore it.

He said, “Atiku Abubakar did not gift Lt. Yerima—or anyone else—a new SUV. The story is entirely fabricated.”

The rumour began on Facebook, alleging that Atiku rewarded the officer after his confrontation with Wike over a disputed plot of land in Abuja’s Gaduwa District.

A video of the clash, which showed a heated exchange between both men, has continued to spark public reactions.
