Davido’s Ibadan Concert Drew One of the Biggest Crowds Ever

Davido

Davido’s Ibadan concert was a night to remember — a powerful fusion of music, culture, and emotion as the city welcomed one of Africa’s biggest stars.

The Liberty Stadium was filled beyond imagination, with thousands from Oyo State and beyond flooding the venue for the third stop of Davido’s 5ive Alive Tour. The crowd was so massive that nearby streets became impassable.

Despite a rough encounter with a soldier at the gate, which left me with a bruised wrist, the swift response of Sergeant Isa, who ensured an apology was issued, restored my confidence in the security team.

By evening, the atmosphere was electric. Fans sang along to their favourite hits on the red carpet, hypemen like Ayo Santos and Jerry Shaffer kept the energy alive, and opening acts including Dremo and Mayorkun built anticipation for Davido’s grand entry. When Davido finally appeared, dressed in a regal Aso Oke robe and cap, the crowd erupted. It was a breathtaking moment — the artist, the city, and the people united in celebration. Performing “Anything” from his new album 5ive, Davido turned the night into a victory dance, leaving Ibadan with memories of one of the largest and most emotional concerts ever held in Nigeria.
