The Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olatunji Oshati, has dismissed rumours of a crisis in the parliament, insisting that the House remains united.
Oshati denied reports alleging moves to sack the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji, describing claims of a vote of no confidence or impeachment plot as false.
In a statement on Friday, he said the Assembly is focused on its legislative duties and working together for the development of the state.
“There is no crisis in the Assembly, and there is no impeachment move against the Speaker,” Oshati stated. “We remain committed to people-centred legislation that serves the interest of our citizens.”
He added that while disagreements may occur in a democracy, they must always be based on reasonable and constructive engagement.
